Almost all issues solved

After reading an entry from getanewbrowser.com on the poor navigation of this site, I decided to fix the problems mentioned. It took 4 hours but I finally managed to hack the template enough to handle the category archives better. Someday I’ll post a long explanation of what I did, but until then what matters is that both the Gallery and News sections are much easier to navigate, and there are no more “previous” or “next” page links. I also made the Resources section more readable.
The only thing left is how to handle the individual posts pages. Every individual post page just displays the current entry, without any navigation options. What I would like to make is a “back to the page you came from” link. I don’t know how to do this just yet but I will find out and implement it.
Please share feedback on the site improvements and let me know any other ways (within reason) that I can further improve Liquid Designs.

I really love the new navigation. Thanks for taking my constructive criticisms…. Great work!

[…] “Eating my own dog food” has done a lot for this website, but it has been even more effective for Liquid Designs. If you have been following that website for over a year, you may remember that the information architecture of that website used to be much less effective than it is now. It was actually an entry over at GANB that inspired me to completely change the front end of that site. It really paid off too, because when I had to put together the list of nominees for the first round of the Hall of Fame, it ended up being that the easiest way to look at all of the entries was simply to look at the gallery pages on the site and visit each of the entries from there. Recently, when I had to choose the second group of nominees, it was once again the easiest to find them with the gallery pages. It was also easiest count the entries simply by looking the totals that I had posted on each gallery page, and it was only because of this that I realized that I was one short of 200 entries. […]
